In this article we'll show you how to connect your iContact account to Kourses. This will allow you to add new member information from Kourses to your lists inside iContact account for followup marketing.
Connecting your Kourses account to iContact lets you automatically send new buyer information to your email marketing lists.
Here’s how to set it up in just a few steps.
Step 1: Choose the Membership to Integrate
Log into your Kourses account.
Choose the membership you want to integrate with iContact (example: Premium Membership).
Go to Integrations.
Under Email Marketing and Others, click Add Service.
Step 2: Select iContact from the List
A list of available services will appear.
Find iContact.
Click Choose Service.
Step 3: Gather Your iContact Credentials
You’ll need three things from your iContact account:
Application ID
Username (your email address)
Password
To get these:
Log into your iContact account.
Click Settings and Billing from the right-hand menu.
Choose iContact Integrations.
Scroll to the Custom API Integration section.
Click Create to generate a new API integration.
Copy each of the following:
Application ID
Email address (Username)
Password
Step 4: Enter Credentials in Kourses
Go back to Kourses.
Paste the Application ID into the Application ID field.
Paste your email address into the Username field.
Paste your password into the Password field.
Click Save and Connect.
If connected successfully, you’ll now see a list of your iContact lists.
Step 5: Choose Your iContact List
Select the list where you want new buyers to be added.
Example: New List September.
This ensures that whenever someone joins your membership, they’re automatically added to your chosen list in iContact.
Step 6: Finalize the Connection
Review your selection.
Click Save to complete the setup.

In this tutorial, you'll learn how to connect iContact to your Kourses platform so you can capture leads when users abandon their checkout.
Let's dive in!
Step 1: Choose Your Membership
Log into Kourses.
Select the membership you want to set up the integration for.
Example: "Lead Funnel in a Weekend" membership.
Step 2: Access the Integration Settings
Click on the Integrations tab.
Scroll down to the Email Marketing and Others section.
Find Abandoned Cart Lead and click Add Service.
Step 3: Connect to iContact
From the list of services, select iContact.
Click Save and Connect.

Step 4: Set Up Your iContact Fields
After connecting iContact, you'll need to prepare some custom fields inside iContact:
Go to iContact dashboard.
Click on Contacts.
From the top menu, select Custom Fields.
Click Create Field.
Create two custom fields:
Membership Name
Type: Text
Display As: Membership Name
Cart URL
Type: Text
Display As: Cart URL
Don't forget to Save each field after creating it!
Step 5: Link Custom Fields in Kourses
Go back to Kourses and click Save to refresh the integration.
Scroll down to see the custom field options.
Select the Membership Name and Cart URL fields you just created.
Click Save again to complete the mapping.
How It Works After Setup
When a lead abandons checkout, after about 1 hour, their info is automatically sent to iContact.
The lead will be added to your Abandon Checkout list in iContact.
The Membership Name they were trying to buy and the Cart URL will be populated in their contact record.
You can now use this information to create personalized follow-up emails!
