Abandoned Cart Integration

If you would like to pass your abandoned checkout / cart leads through to AWeber, follow this guide to integrating AWeber. We'll show you how to create the custom fields required for this integration to work most effectively.

This guide will walk you through how to integrate Aweber with the Abandoned Cart process inside Kourses.
This lets you capture leads when users abandon their checkout and send them directly to Aweber for follow-up.

Step 1: Choose Your Membership

  • In Kourses, select the membership you want to integrate with Aweber.

  • Example: Lead Funnel in a Weekend membership.

Step 2: Set Up the Integration

  1. Go to the Integrations section inside your membership settings.

  2. Under Email Marketing and Others, scroll to Abandoned Cart Leads.

  3. Click Add Service.

  4. Choose Aweber from the list.

Note:
If you haven't connected your Aweber account yet, you'll be prompted to authorize via OAuth.

Step 3: Configure the Aweber Integration

After connecting Aweber, you'll see several fields to configure:

1. Choose a List

  • Select the Aweber list where abandoned cart leads should be added.

  • Example: Abandon Checkout list.

2. Add Tags (Optional)

  • Add any tags you'd like to assign to these contacts.

  • Simply type the tag and press Enter.

Step 4: Create Custom Fields in Aweber

You need to create two custom fields in Aweber to capture additional data:

  1. In Aweber, select the list you are using (e.g., Abandon Checkout).

  2. Go to List Options → Custom Fields.

  3. Click Add Custom Field and create:

    • Membership Name

    • Cart URL

Step 5: Map Custom Fields in Kourses

  1. Go back to Kourses.

  2. Click Save to refresh the integration settings.

  3. Scroll down and map:

    • Membership Name field to the Membership Name custom field.

    • Checkout URL field to the Cart URL custom field.

  4. Click Save.

How the Integration Works

  • When someone visits your checkout but doesn't purchase within one hour, they are:

    • Added to the Abandon Checkout list in Aweber.

    • Tagged with the abandoned tag.

    • Have their Membership Name and Checkout URL stored in their Aweber contact fields.

You can then personalize your follow-up emails by dynamically inserting:

  • The membership they were interested in.

  • A link back to their checkout page to encourage them to complete the purchase.

That's It!
